WidowsWeb, LLC: Compassionate Mental Health Support Rooted in Purpose and Experience
In the heart of Michigan, WidowsWeb, LLC stands as a safe haven for individuals navigating the complexities of mental health challenges. Founded by Licensed Clinical Social Worker Vernice Danna, this private practice offers both in-person and telehealth therapeutic services to residents across Michigan, with a focus on inclusivity, accessibility, and healing—especially for African American individuals aged 20 to 85.
Meeting People Where They Are—And Helping Them Grow
At its core, WidowsWeb is more than a therapy practice—it's a mission. Vernice Danna launched the business after years of seeing African Americans silently suffer from mental health issues, often stemming from childhood trauma. "Many don’t know who to turn to or how to address their concerns in a healthy manner," she explains. This inspired her to create a judgement-free, welcoming space where clients can find support, strength, and the guidance they need to heal.
WidowsWeb provides therapeutic services for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, grief and loss, and the effects of trauma and chronic stress. The practice accepts most health care insurances, EAPs, and also offers flexible self-pay options via Cash, Credit Cards, Zelle, PayPal, and Stripe.
A Therapist Who Truly Understands
Vernice brings over nine years of experience in the mental health field, along with a deep educational background—holding both a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master of Science in Administration (MSA). She is also a Certified Trauma Professional with a career that includes helping clients through intense emotional pain, including losses from homicide and suicide. Her experience spans work in educational settings, crisis response, and community outreach, giving her a well-rounded approach to care.
"My goal is to help all I serve find ways to adjust so they can live productive lives," says Vernice. Her understanding of how thoughts shape emotional, social, and cultural experiences helps her tailor therapy to the unique needs of each client.
A Space for Honesty and Healing
What sets WidowsWeb apart is its commitment to being a judgment-free zone. The practice welcomes clients—especially younger individuals—who may feel they’ll be judged for opening up about their inner struggles. Vernice emphasizes that healing begins when people feel safe enough to be vulnerable, and empowered enough to seek help.
Her vision for WidowsWeb is to be a beacon of hope, where people are reminded that rainbows do exist—and with the right guidance, they can find their own. “You just have to be tired enough to care about yourself,” she says.
Looking Forward: Breaking Barriers and Building Trust
While currently serving Michigan, Vernice has a long-term vision of expanding WidowsWeb’s impact as a trusted resource in the Black community and beyond. Listed on platforms like Psychology Today, Google Search, Headway, Yelp, and Black business directories, WidowsWeb continues to grow through visibility and heartfelt referrals.
For Vernice, success isn’t measured in money or power—it’s in watching people reclaim their peace and power after years of emotional struggle. “Success is when I see someone able to adjust to society and not feel like they don't have a part to play in making the world better for themselves and those they care about.”
Wisdom from the Journey
Starting WidowsWeb was a deeply personal and self-funded endeavor. Vernice shares one critical piece of advice for new mental health entrepreneurs: “Understand ALL the requirements for the state, city, region, and counties if you plan to work with government-funded mental health services. They can all require something different. Be prepared to wait.”
She also notes one of her few regrets—wishing she had understood more about medical credentialing early on, which could have saved time and stress.
WidowsWeb, LLC is a space for healing, understanding, and empowerment—designed to help individuals become whole again, one session at a time. If you're in Michigan and searching for real, compassionate mental health support, Vernice Danna and WidowsWeb are ready to walk with you on your journey.
